What pro tip do you have for small business owners who want to grow their business faster?

 

Listen to what everyone around you is saying – your staff, customers, partner, family, friends and random strangers! If it’s positive, then chances are you’re on the right track. If it’s negative, you need to work out what’s going wrong and fix it. Remember, you have to sell your company to your staff first – if they aren’t buying it, then it’s going to be a long, slow road.

Get yourself out there – build a good social media presence, attend networking events, be interactive and proactive online to bring as much awareness to the business as possible and the word spreads. Leverage your marketing agency partner – they should be helping you with all of this and more.

My advice for small business owners who want to grow their business properly is implementing a business plan that outlines management and marketing campaigns with super clear calls-to-action. Sharing this plan will help ensure that employees know what is expected of them and how they are required to treat clients. Don’t forget to reward employees for outstanding work achievements – this will result in happy workers who will bring in sales.

Listen to the professionals, they know what works and good marketers and designers will always be honest, and are not too shy to let you know if you might not be seeing the bigger picture.

Put yourself out there and don’t leave any door unopened. Take advantage of digital opportunities, even if you don’t think they will work for you – because chances are, they will! Too often, we see clients who are hesitant to try new things because they think it won’t appeal to their market, or feel like it doesn’t suit their business.
