Five Quick Tips for Using Facebook for Business

By Samantha Brooks on 12 January, 2016

Nowadays, more businesses are joining Facebook and adding their pages to the network, why? With over one billion active users there is definitely strength in numbers. Here are our five top tips for posting on Facebook for business.

1. Post Regularly… And Timely

Posting on a regular basis will keep you in your audience’s mind through regularly appearing on their News Feed. You can use this to post daily sneak peeks of upcoming products, incentives or competitions to promote your business.

Your audience will be more likely to engage with posts when they’re able to relate to subjects such as current events or holidays. Feel free to share how your business is celebrating a national holiday or public event. Don’t forget to schedule your posts in advance, it’s less time consuming and makes it easier to plan posts across other social platforms.

2. Keep it Simple

Short and sweet is always better. Create a simple post to provide some insight and then link it to your company website or relevant blog post for readers to get more information. When done properly, this will drive traffic to your website.

Shorter, succinct posts are better received – use basic language and short sentences. This is a very effective way to communicate with your audience in a clear and concise way which is easy to understand.

3. Use Engaging Visuals

Rich media such as photos and videos get more attention and help your message stand out in News Feed. When using Facebook for your business you can show a variety of visuals including photos of your customers enjoying your services, products you offer, or infographics in line with your company’s branding…

4. Be True to Your Brand

Your brand is derived from what you want your company is, what you want it to be, and influences how people to perceive it; it also differentiates you from your competitors.

When posting on social media for your business, it is good to follow four questions to identify if your post is in accordance with your brand:

  • Is it in line with your company’s mission?
  • Does it showcase the benefits and/or features of your company’s products or services?
  • How does it reflect what your customers and prospects think of your company?
  • What qualities do you want them to associate with your company?

5. Create Unique Offers and Competitions

Offer special deals or exclusive competitions to your audience to keep them interested and drive online sales. To improve engagement with your promotion or competition, include redemption details and when the promotion ends to add a sense of urgency.

You could try posing a question to your audience in order to enhance engagement and create a conversation with your customers. When using Facebook for business, don’t forget to include links to the most relevant pages on your website. It’s all about driving traffic and growing your reach!
